Chinese New Year Celebration
CHS’ Chinese New Year Celebration will be held this Saturday, February 8, 2025.

For the families who CANNOT come in person to the Library, please join the celebration via the zoom link below.

For families who have signed up to come in person for the celebration at East Brunswick Library, here is some information for you:

Date: Saturday, February 8, 2025
Place: East Brunswick Library Conference Rooms, 2 Jean Walling, East Brunswick, Civic Center Dr, East Brunswick, NJ 08816 (The conference rooms are at the back of the library).
Time: 10am to 12:45pm
* Please arrive by 9:45am, to sign-in and pick up your lunch tickets.
* Performance show starts at 10:00am
* After the performance show, teachers will be hosting several games for the children, such as Quick Chopsticks, Ring Toss, Zodiac Wheel and Lucky Snake, etc. There will be a craft table, and booths with Chinese New Year items for sale.
* Lunch starts at around 11:45.

Please wear something red or a Chinese style outfit. You are welcome to come on stage to take photos.

Thanks to those who have signed up to help. We will be in touch with you in a separate email. If you do not receive an email, you can assume that you are not assigned.

CLSC (Maryland School)
Thanks to everyone who attended the CLSC Town Hall on Saturday, January 18, 2025. For families interested in continuing with CLSC during the 2025-26 school year, please fill out the CLSC interest form. CLSC is starting to plan for next school year, so please fill out as soon as possible. Thanks!

CLSC TOWN HALL
As discussed during the CHS Townhall on December 7th, beginning in Sept 2025, CHS will be planning to transition to CLSC school in Maryland.

The CLSC school is inviting CHS families to participate in a CLSC town hall, so that they can share information about their school and the transition beginning next school year. Please plan to attend.

Date: Saturday (January 18, 2025) at 11:15am (Please contact your child’s teacher or admin to get the google meet link)

CHS PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
CHS Parent Teacher conferences will take place this Saturday (January 11th). Specific details should have been provided by your child(ren)’s teacher. Please reach out to them if you have not received any information yet.

CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

CHS will be hosting an in-person Chinese New Year Celebration. You and your family are invited to join.
Event:  Chinese New Year Celebration (Year of Snake)
Date:   Saturday, February 8, 2025
Place:  East Brunswick Library Conference Rooms (2 Jean Walling, East Brunswick, Civic Center Dr, East Brunswick, NJ 08816)
Time:  10am to 12:30pm  Please arrive by 9:45am
Program: Performances, games (with prizes) and lunch.

PTA will provide lunch only to those who have signed up. Lunch is free for enrolled students, their parents/guardians (up to two) and their non-student siblings (up to two). Any other guests (up to 6) who want lunch will be required to pay $10 per person. Instructions on how to remit the fees will be given on the confirmation email after you sign up. 

We understand that not all families can join, due to traveling distance reasons. Therefore, we have asked the teachers to prepare and record the class performances, to be shown during the event. Individual performances are also welcome; especially any in-person performances will be greatly appreciated. 

Recordings of individual performances can be uploaded to this share drive. (Please label your video with the student’s name, grade and performance name.)

School Calendar Change: Since we are moving the Chinese New Year celebration to February 8th, February 1st is now a regular school day.  The school calendar has been updated to reflect the change. 

December 7th Town Hall Meeting
Thank you for attending the CHS Town Hall on Saturday, December 7, 2024 announcing the transition of CHS of NJ to Chinese Language School of Columbia (MD) – CLSC (哥城中文學校) beginning in the 2025-26 school year in September 2025.
