Thank you for your interest of the Chinese Heritage School.  The teachers and staff members of CHS are all dedicated volunteer educators, who wish to further introduce and broaden the Chinese language and culture to our next generation.  CHS stands out from the other Chinese Schools in the following key aspects:

Our teaching objectives and principles are established based on our years of unique experience gained from teaching Chinese as a second language in the US.  We are parents ourselves and understand the special challenges of trying to carry on Chinese heritage to the next generation. Therefore, in addition to the regular language class, we also emphasize on verbal conversation, Chinese Culture and family values. Our intention is to create a fun environment where our children are motivated to study Chinese language, and feel proud to be Chinese.

 *   All our teachers are loving and experienced educators.  The majority of our teachers, such as Ann Tong, Pearl Yuan, Sophie Chan, Teresa Chan, Elaine Cheng, and Mai Chu, have over seven years of experience in teaching Chinese in New Jersey.  It is this enthusiasm that bonded us together to devote ourselves for this meaningful cause.

*   Our curricula are specially designed for children growing in the U.S.  In the past few years, the teachers and CHS Board have spent a lot of time in selecting textbooks, developing curricula and policies that best suit the needs of our children.  The classes will be taught in Cantonese, utilizing current textbooks written by Education Press of Hong Kong.

We encourage parents’ involvement in our school activities.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us or email us.  We are looking forward to seeing you and your children.
